TI-86 intro |
You'll
get a global impression by viewing the system specs of the TI-86
calculator:
(text from ticalc.org:) Essentially, the TI-86 is a hybrid between the TI-83 and the TI-85. It incorporates the TI-85's advanced features such as unit conversions, polynomial solver, linear system solver, menu-based user interface, and vectors, with the TI-83's ease-of-use features like deep recall, built-in assembly language, function table, high contrast display, different graph styles, and matrix editor. Combine this with the 96K of user memory, and you have a very powerful calculator set to overtake the TI-85 as the calculator of choice for engineering and Calculus.
SOFTWARE |
Software can be send from a PC to the TI86 using a TI-Graph Link.
A LOT of software can be downloaded from ticalc.org! I've also collected
some software, and put some of the best programs here to download.
These two screenshots are from the games ZTetris and Z-Blitz. ZTetris is just tetris, but with two-player-option (between two TI-86es). Z-Blitz is chess, not finished yet, but it shows the grayscale-support of the TI-86.
The TI-86 even supports sound: with a 35 >> 25mm convertor you can plug in a normal earphone. Sounds rather primitive, but it's fun and cool.
Because I don't have got a TI-Graph Link yet, I haven't got a list of my best ti86-software. I read sqrxz is cool, and ztetris seems fun too. I have typed some files into my calc, like the font-changer by Clem Vasseur. All files can be found on ticalc.org.
